Back in July 2021 Dale Brothers received and email from a member of the public, by the name of Cherry Edwards, asking if we had any model toy lorries available in our livery. Her son, Tom, was fanatical about spotting their lorries while on their journey to and from school, along the M54.

Naturally Dale Brothers were incredibly flattered that young Tom had taken such an interest in their fleet and wanted to do something for him.

After further conversation, Cheryl revealed that Tom (8) was Autistic and is also a sufferer of ADHD. Spotting Dale Brothers lorries had become one of his favourite things to do along with spotting Tesla cars and following Wolverhampton Wanderers FC.

With this in mind, Cheryl and the Directors decided that the business should give Tom, and his classmates, a super surprise by visiting the school in Shifnal.

So they set a date in October 2021 and took a DAF Tractor unit to the school, ran a question, answers and friends chat with the kids and told them all about the company and what it does. The children were then given a guided tour of the vehicle and allowed to sit in the cab.

The visit concluded with the presentation of a model lorry, a set of uniform (which Tom frequently wears) and honorary membership to the Dale Brothers’ Spotters Club.

All in all the afternoon was a fun time spent with Tom and his classmates and Dale Brothers gave Tom an open invitation to visit the yard and look forward to seeing him in the future.
